Job Overview

Clean teeth: Remove plaque, tartar, and stains
Take x-rays: Take and develop dental x-rays to assess patients' oral health
Apply treatments: Apply sealants, fluorides, and other cavity-preventive agents
Educate patients: Teach patients how to brush and floss, and counsel them on oral health
Document care: Update patient health and dental history records
Manage patients: Schedule patients, review health history, and update records
Sterilize: Practice universal precautions and other sterilization and infection control procedures
Communicate: Communicate with patients in a professional way
Reassure patients: Help patients feel comfortable and allay anxiety during treatment
