Job Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including handing instruments and materials.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
Take and develop dental X-rays.
Record patient medical and dental histories.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a dental assistant program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) is preferred.
State certification or licensure as required.
CPR and first aid certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
