Dental Hygienists perform basic dental duties as well as assist with more advanced procedures. Responsibilities and duties for a Dental Hygienist include:
Screening patients during checkups
Review a patient’s dental history
Recommending care to improve a patient’s oral health
Teaching patients about proper teeth cleaning techniques
Performing preventive dental care
Apply fluoride treatment
Taking x-rays and reviewing them for signs of dental diseases
Minimum Qualifications
Current dental hygienist license in NE and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
CPR Certification
Preferred Experience
Experienced Hygienists
Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, scaling and root planing, laser certified (not required but preferred) digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems.
Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health.
Clinical needs as required by office.
