Summary: Provide quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist and using established dental hygiene procedures.

Job Duties: These are considered essential to the successful performance of this position:
Provide direct patient care and dental services as trained, licensed, and assigned, including patient assessment through approved screening procedures (e.g., medical history review, dental and periodontal charting). Evaluate oral health for signs of periodontal disease, cancer, or other concerns, such as recessed gums, bleeding, and lesions.
Perform procedures according to treatment plans, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, debridement, fluoride treatments, and sealant applications.
Ensure positive patient experiences with compassionate care, meeting physical, psychosocial, and safety needs.
Manage and maintain accurate, timely patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.
Assist with emergency measures for adverse events during treatment.
Ensure accurate billing submissions for favorable collection outcomes.
Instruct patients and families on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment; take and process x-rays.
Offer support and backup for Patient Services Representatives (PSRs) as needed, performing related administrative tasks.
Develop positive working relationships with staff, dentists, and patients, providing culturally appropriate care.
Uphold the organization’s mission and values while adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, sterilization, and tray setup
Single or Double column hygiene. Assistant available to help with X-rays and seating patients.
Role Requirements and Experience:
Currently Registered Dental Hygienist with Ohio Licensure.
Current CPR and radiation safety certification.
Certification to administer local anesthetics is preferred.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry practices.
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software is preferred.
Previous experience in pediatrics is a plus but not mandatory.
