We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Specialty Dental Assistant with experience in Periodontics, Oral Surgery, and Orthodontics. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is capable of adapting to our current paper charting system, with a transition to Dental Ascend within the next six months. X-ray certification is required, and the candidate must be well-versed in OSHA and HIPAA regulations and sterilization practices. Experience with patient communication, especially in providing pre-op and post-op instructions, is essential. Familiarity with sedation and nitrous oxide is preferred, but a willingness to learn is highly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Periodontic, Oral Surgery, and Orthodontic procedures.
Take and process X-rays with proper safety protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records and charts (paper charting until transition to Dental Ascend).
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to OSHA guidelines.
Follow HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
Educate and communicate with patients regarding pre-op and post-op instructions.
Assist in the management of sedation and nitrous oxide during procedures.
Ensure a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols.
Stay up-to-date with current dental practices and technologies.

This position has the potential to transition into a full-time role. There may also be occasions where working past office hours is required due to surgery schedules.

Requirements:
