Responsibilities:
Hygienists and dentists work closely together to ensure we meet the oral health needs of our patients.
Dental hygienists are expected to uphold the responsibility outlined by the Standards for Clinical Dental Hygiene by the American Dental Hygienists Association and practice within scope of practice by state of employment and licensure.
Required education and credentials:
An associate degree or higher in dental hygiene
Registered Dental Hygiene licensure in the state you are applying (or one on the way if you’re a student)
Specific certifications as required by state (varies state to state)
