The RDH will clean teeth and examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. The RDH also educates patients on oral hygiene, takes and develops x-rays, and applies fluoride or sealants. Duties include, but are not limited to: • Update electronic health records • Utilize oral pathology screening tools • Record periodontal findings • Complete radiographs and dental impressions • Work with treating doctor to Identify conditions including gingivitis, periodontitis, and restorative needs • Perform other identified procedures • Provide patient-centered oral health education • Offer post-operative instructions • Document treatment in electronic records • Follow infection control and OSHA standards for disinfection and sterilization of spaces and armamentarium • Monitor materials and supplies • Provide optimal patient care • Other duties as assigned
