Position Overview
The Dental Hygienist is a critical member of the TriCities Dental team, responsible for providing excellent patient care, education, and dental hygiene services. The role requires a dedication to the highest standards of practice and a commitment to fostering a culture of psychological safety and respect within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial dental assessments and consult with dentists on patient care.
Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and topical fluoride application.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
Document treatment plans and care provided in the patient’s medical record.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
Assist with dental emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
Comply with all regulatory requirements, including infection control protocols.
Collaborate closely with the dental team to ensure the effective delivery of care.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
Active State Dental Hygienist license.
Current CPR certification.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) software is desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong commitment to professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
