Key Responsibilities:
Ensure patients are comfortable and at ease before their examination.
Properly sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean working environment.
Conduct initial mouth screenings and review patients oral health history.
Identify and address conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis.
Perform teeth cleanings, including plaque removal and fluoride application.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care.
Provide post-operative care instructions after dental procedures.
Take X-rays or dental impressions as needed.
Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for oral health issues, including oral cancer.
Maintain accurate patient documentation and charts.
Monitor and manage dental supplies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in dentistry (e.g., HIPAA).
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, friendly personality with the ability to build trust with patients.
Excellent attention to detail and a steady hand.
Physical stamina to meet the demands of the job.
Diploma in Dental Hygiene.
Valid license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
